Migrant workers injured in crash

PHITSANULOK: Five workers were slightly injured when the pickup they were travelling in crashed into a house in Phrom Phiram district on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at Ban Khao Nam Sut in tambon Thap Yai Chiang, Pol Lt Col Vacharapong Thamwong, the district police chief, said.

The pickup ran off Highway 11 near kilometre marker 225 and crashed into a roadside house, damaging the building and a farm truck parked in front of it.

Five Myanmar nationals, four men and one woman, were slightly injured. They were given first-aid by rescuers and then taken to Wat Bot Hospital. The Thai driver was not named by police, but was not hurt. 

The pickup was taking the workers from Lamphun to Khon Kaen province.

Immigration officials were checking to confirm if they entered the country legally.

Local police were still investigating the cause of crash.
